If you are new to working out or maybe a year in and may have been told by a coach, friend, or heck maybe just the internet that more is better I would like to help you by giving you some knowledge on this topic so you can have the best results by optimizing your time correctly? In the society we live in today, everyone thinks less food and more movement equals more results.
Wrong! Actually we can be causing more harm than good when we overtrain. Take a look at the picture below and see if you may align with some or any of these symptoms...

You see when we train 6-7 days a week with no rest days in between it actually hinders our results by not giving the body the proper amount of time to rest and recover before putting more stress on the body once again.
You may begin to notice your workouts are now sloppier than before, or may have a hard time falling asleep, you're more agitated and moody towards others and yourself. Or maybe you're just not seeing and progress with your results. This all comes with overtraining!
Some stressors causing these symptoms could possibly be:
To much cardio and lifting
An excessive step count
Physical job demands
Work Stress
Emotional or relationship stress
Unmanaged anxiety or unmanaged mental health issues
Hormone Dysfunction
So I know it may be a little frightening at first to take those must needed rest days. But it will help with your performance and recovery tremendously! The magic happens while sleep and recovery are taking place. You build that lean body shaping muscle while sleeping.
